Azura Amphitheater Reveals 2022 Concert Line Up So Far
Azura Amphitheater, the former Sandstone Amphitheater, has announced its first shows of the 2022 season.
The venue will open the season with rap legends Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube with Special Guest Warren G on Friday, April 22. Doors will open at 6:00 PM CDT, with the show scheduled to start at 7:30 PM CDT.
Tickets go on sale on March 4, with a pre-sale on March 2. To take advantage of the pre-sale use the code AZURA. In a press release venue manager Jamie Whitehead said, "I can't think of a better way to open our season. We are so excited for Kansas City fans to experience live these iconic hip-hop and rap artists who have contributed significantly to music history and continue to produce meaningful hits today."
Next on the venue's schedule is Flyover. The hip-hop festival featuring ASAP Rocky, Playboi Carti, and Lil Tecca has been rescheduled twice. Perhaps the third time will be the charm for this event at the amphitheater on Saturday, May 14. 2:30 PM CDT is when the festival kicks off.
The next weekend, Saturday, May 21, is Yallpalooza starring Jon Pardi with special guests Hardy and Ernest. Doors at 5:30 PM CFDT, with a show time of 7:00 PM CDT.
Metal fans will dig Knotfest Roadshow staring Slipknot with special guests Cypress Hill and Ho9909 on Tuesday night June 7. Doors will open at 5:30 PM CDT with an early 6:30 PM CDT showtime.
Cody Johnson brings his friends and his special brand of "cowboy" country music to the venue on Thursday night June 23. Doors for this show will open at 7:00 PM CDT, with a later starting show at 8:00 PM CDT.
And if you like country music, you might not want to miss the Throwback Throwdown being sponsored by a Kansas City radio station on Friday, September 9. Sawyer Brown headlines the night of music with Neal McCoy and the Bellamy Brothers also on the bill. Doors open for this show at 5:30 PM CDT with a 7:00 PM start time.
