Effective July 12, 2021, visitor access to Bothwell hospital is limited to only the front entrance and the Emergency Department.

All visitors through the front entrance need to check in with Security, which is monitoring each entrance for proper mask-wearing and numbers of visitors per patient. The southwest doors are locked and available for exit only. Bothwell is limiting entry points into the hospital due to the number of patients hospitalized with Covid-19 to further protect all patients and employees.

No visitors are allowed for patients who are Covid positive or who are awaiting test results. Exceptions may be made for end-of-life, special circumstances or patients who are children.

As a reminder, visiting hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for guests 16 and older. At this time, Bothwell allows two visitors at a time per patient in general patient units. One visitor per patient is allowed in surgical areas, including same-day surgery, general surgery, and Labor and Delivery. Two visitors are allowed to visit mother/baby at a time once they are in a postpartum room.

One visitor at a time is allowed in the Emergency Department (ED). Due to available ED lobby space and to maintain proper social distancing, additional visitors to the ED are asked to remain in their cars.

Upon entering the hospital, all visitors are required to wear a mask or will be given a mask and asked to wear it throughout their visit. Visitors should practice good hand hygiene, social distancing and take precautions when in contact with others. People who feel ill or have virus-like symptoms should not visit patients in the hospital.
