Bothwell Regional Health Center will conduct a Safe Sitter education class on Saturday, February 23.

The babysitting education class will be held from 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the Bothwell Education Center, located at 600 E. 14th Street in Sedalia.

Bothwell says the class is designed for children in grades 6 - 8 and ready to enter the world of babysitting. The Safe Sitter Program is described as a comprehensive, one-day course that includes pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and can teach young teens and preteens how to be better, safer babysitters.

Students in the class have the opportunity to learn about injury management and prevention, childcare essentials, behavior management, the business of babysitting, and how to care for a choking child or infant.

The cost for the class is $35.00, which includes a messenger bag containing babysitting essentials.

Preregistration and payment is required and due by February 15. For more information, call 660-827-9138. It was noted that class size is limited.
