A big event is coming up next week, something that is good for kids of all ages, whether they grew up in town or out in the country.

The El Dorado Saddle Club, Hoofprints Stables and Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri are teaming up on Saturday, Nov. 17 to present the first annual “Teach & Trot.”  It's an event that's meant to really interest the people who are experienced with horses, or even those kids out there who have always loved horses but never ridden one.

Teach & Trot will take place at Hoofprints Stables at 6925 E. Highway 50, about three miles east of Sedalia. It starts at  9 a.m when experts will give demonstrations.  The Saddle Club will give horse and pony rides for all ages, and a Kid’s Carnival will kick off with plenty of crafts and fun things to do.

This event will be a lot of fun for your youngster that might be into horses or ponies, or one who just has an interest in animals.  And don't think it's just for the kids, the demonstrations and instruction will be relevant to adults and other sportsmen too.

I think the name really says it all: Teach and Trot.  You'll learn something and get to have some fun trottin' around with our horsey friends.

Admission for Teach & Trot is a free-will donation. The horse rides and some of the kid's stuff may charge a small fee.  Afterwards, the Smithton Boys & Girls Club Torch Club members will offer a lunch.

So why not check it out and see for yourself?

Horsily yours,

Behka
