The Cardinals will have fans in the stands at Busch Stadium for the 2021 season beginning April 8.

The team announced via press release that they have worked out a plan with the City of St. Louis and Major League Baseball to safely bring back fans to Busch Stadium for this season.

“We are excited to have our fans back in the stands for the upcoming season,” said Bill DeWitt III, Team President. “We thank Mayor Lyda Krewson’s office, Health Director Dr. Fredrick Echols, and the City of St. Louis Health Department for partnering with us to develop a comprehensive reopening plan that complies with all City health directives and the League’s Return-to-Play Protocols.”

The Cardinals will allow about 32% capacity at Busch Stadium to start the season, and it looks like the team will sell tickets month by month. In their release the Cardinals say they will begin selling tickets for the two Cardinals April home stands soon. Season ticket holders will get first crack at tickets, and should there be inventory available after that, ticket sales will open to the public.

Busch Stadium's COVID-19 protocols for fans will be similar to what Chiefs fans experienced at Arrowhead Stadium over the winter.

Masks will be required. Seating will be socially distanced; and guests will be seated in pods of two or four. Guests will have a designated entry gate. Tickets will be mobile. All transactions will be cashless with credit and debit card payment options only. (The Cardinals will have debit cards available for purchase with cash and no service fees at a number of limited locations inside the stadium.) And bags, with the exception of medical and diaper bags, will be prohibited.

“Busch Stadium’s vast open-air footprint, six entry gates and wide concourses gives us the ability to create the safest environment possible for guests to root on the Cardinals this year,” said Matt Gifford, Vice President of Stadium Operations. “We’ve all missed the fans at the ballpark and are confident that all fans will adhere to these policies for an outstanding game day experience.”
