Carrollton Man Killed in Rollover Accident

A Carrollton man was killed Wednesday morning in a rollover accident in Carroll County.

The MSHP reports that an eastbound 2004 Hyundai Sonata driven by 55-year-old Shawn E. Cowger of Carrollton was on Highway J at YY Highway at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, through a fence, then struck a ditch and overturned.

Cowger was pronounced dead at the scene by Carroll County Coroner S. Bittiker at 8:14 a.m.

The body was taken to Bittiker Funeral Home in Carrollton.

The Sonata was totaled.
