City crews were out last night and continue working to remove tree limbs and branches from public property and rights-of-way resulting from last night’s storm and high winds to ensure roadways and sidewalks are clear, the City of Sedalia noted in a press release issued Friday morning.

"In addition, as a service to the Citizens of Sedalia, residents having tree limbs and branches downed by the storm in their yard may move these tree limbs to the area between the sidewalk and roadway in front of their homes for pick-up by City crews over the next few weeks.

Please keep the debris out of the street and away from low overhead lines, trees, vehicles, utility poles and mailboxes. If possible, limbs should be cut down to under 6 feet in length to aide crews in picking them up more quickly. City crews will get to your debris as soon as possible and anticipate having it all picked up over the next two to three weeks.

Residents may also take tree debris and vegetation to the City’s Materials Management Site.

The City’s Materials Management Site is located at 27882 Highway U and is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day Monday through Sunday, with the exception of City holidays."
