A 61-year old man from Clinton, MO was flown to a Kansas City hospital with injuries, after his motorcycle malfunctioned Friday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident around 3:30, on MO-7 at Route UU, in Benton County.

According to the online crash report, a northbound 1984 Honda Goldwing motorcycle malfunctioned and traveled off the roadway. The motorcycle vaulted over the intersection, became airborne, and the driver was ejected.

The driver, 61-year old Daniel R. Porterfield, suffered serious injuries in the accident. He was taken to St. Lukes Hospital, by Lifeflight Eagle EMS, for treatment.

The Honda sustained extensive damage in the wreck and was towed from the scene.
