Eldon Man Arrested for Weapons Offence

A 19-year old Eldon man was recently arrested in Moniteau County for a weapons offence.

The Moniteau County Sheriff's Office says on May 25, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Alexander Road in reference to a subject pointing a firearm at another person.

Deputies learned that the subject, Shawn Ziesman, had come to the residence to pick up his daughter. When Ziesman was told the daughter was not allowed to go with him, he reportedly stepped out of his vehicle with a handgun and threatened the victim.

Ziesman then got back in his vehicle and left the area. A short time later, Tipton Police located Ziesman and stopped the vehicle. Deputies then arrested him and took Ziesman to the Moniteau County Jail.

He faces a charge of Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Bond was set at $10,000.00.
