Ellis Fay Richey, 80, of Sedalia, died Monday, August 17, 2015, at Four Seasons Living Center, Sedalia.  He was born on July 29, 1935, at Sedalia, Missouri, a son of William Fay and Anna Dorothy (Collins) Richey.

He was raised in Sedalia by his mother and step-father, Berley Robert O'Dell.  In 1957, he was married to Marilyn Gregg.  This union was blessed with the gift of four children:  Dianne, Patricia, Beverly, and Michael.

He served his country honorably in the United States Navy, as a corpsman during peacetime and combat in various parts of the world, including Japan, Korea, and Vietnam and as an X-ray technician and instructor stateside.  After 20 years, Ellis retired from his Naval service in 1972.  He then worked as an X-ray technician at Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia.

In 1991, he married Elizabeth Seifert, who survives of the home.  He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sedalia. He enjoyed participating in numerous sports over the years, including swimming, baseball, fast-pitch softball, hunting, fishing, bowling and playing golf.

Besides his wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by:
two daughters, Dianne Dyer of Sedalia and Patricia Slater of Jefferson City;
his son, Michael Richey and Glenda of Emporia, KS;
ten grandchildren; and
seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Fay Richey, his mother and step-father, Dorothy and Robert O'Dell, his daughter, Beverly Lynn Richey Noel, and his son-in-law, Dan Slater.

Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sedalia.  Military honors will be at noon, Friday, August 21, 2015, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until service time on Friday at the church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Crossroads Hospice in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.
