Bothwell Regional Health Center will conduct two Safe Sitter babysitting education classes in June. The first will be from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 7, and the second will be from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 15. The classes will be in the Bothwell Education Center, 600 E. 14th St. in Sedalia.

These classes are designed for children in grades 6-8 and ready to enter the world of babysitting. The Safe Sitter Program is a comprehensive, one-day course that includes pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and will teach young teens and preteens how to be better, safer babysitters.

Students in the class will learn about injury management and prevention, childcare essentials, behavior management, the business of babysitting, and how to care for a choking child or infant. Course materials are designed for children in grades 6-8..

Cost for the class is $35, which includes a messenger bag containing babysitting essentials..
