Additional Information

Bothwell Regional Health Center will offer a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid class for the community on Saturday, November 3.

The CPR class will take place from 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The first aid portion will follow from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Both classes will be held in the Bothwell Education Center, located at 600 E. 14th Street.

Bothwell says that students will learn how to provide CPR to an adult, child or infant, as well as how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) on adults and children older than 1 year.

Students in the first aid component can learn basic first aid and other skills to use during medical and injury emergencies.

This course is designed for anyone who wants to learn CPR and first aid including corporate and retail employees, security, law enforcement, health and fitness staff, and those who need a completion card in CPR, AED or first aid.

Bothwell added that it is a credentialed program and includes a skills test. The course does not meet the needs of healthcare providers requiring certification. The course curriculum is provided by the American Heart Association.

The cost of the class is $35.00 for CPR/AED or first aid, or $50.00 for both classes. Preregistration is required and can be completed by calling 827-9138. Bothwell noted that class size is limited.
