The Sedalia Symphony Society will present two special holiday events beginning with the performance of Handel’s Messiah on Sunday, Dec. 5, at 3 p.m., at the First Methodist Church, 916 Thompson Blvd.

The Community Chorus, under the direction of Mrs. Sandy Cordes, will be joined by Cheryl McCollester, piano; Debbie Mueller, organ; and the Symphony Ensemble. This is the Symphony’s gift to the community with no admission charge. Masks optional.

The second event will be the Christmas Pops Concert to be held on Monday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the Heckart Performing Arts Center. The Orchestra, Dr. Jerrode (Jer-ro-de) Marsh, Conductor, will open the program with joyous Christmas selections.

Following intermission, the award-winning Singing Saints from Saint Paul Lutheran High School will join the orchestra to round out the evening.

Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door, or through the Symphony’s Website, www.SedaliaSymphonyOrchestra.com via PayPal. Children K-12 and students with college ID admitted free.

In accordance with School District policy, masks are required and will be available.
