Additional Information

On Sunday afternoon, October 4, from 2 to 3 p.m., hundreds of area pro-lifers form a line up along Highway 50 West, according to Bonnie Diefendorf, Missouri Right to Life.

"On National Life Chain Sunday, Oct. 4, pro-lifers in the Sedalia area will join other Life Chain participants in America and Canada for the 33rd year, to line sidewalks in over 1,200 cities to oppose abortion.

This stand of solidarity by Sedalia area pro-lifers will vividly proclaim abortion to be gravely wrong and will confirm, publicly, their steadfast opposition to the killing of pre-born boys and girls, as well as the exploitation of their mothers by the abortion industry.

The National Life Chain is the largest peaceful, prayerful, pro-life public witness in the world. Over 13,000 chains have been built in North America, plus chains in several other countries. Life Chain welcomes everyone who deems human life sacred. The Life Chain is a peaceful, prayerful witness against abortion and in support of God’s forgiveness.

The chain will form at the north end of the Wal-Mart parking lot and extend east. It will last from 2 to 3 p.m. Participants are asked to assemble by 1:30 for prayer and to receive instructions.

Abortion was legalized in the United States 47 years ago on January 22, 1973. Since then over 62 million babies have lost their lives to abortion in this country. For every three babies conceived, one is aborted," Diefendorf said in a statement.
