Pettis County Historical Society Meeting to Showcase Housel Family

The Pettis County Historical Society will host their regular January membership meeting on Monday, Jan. 29 starting at 7 p.m., at Boonslick Regional Library, 219 W. 3rd Street.

The meeting is free to attend, and the public is encouraged to be there and learn about the Housel Family. Housel Park is named after John B. Housel.

Johnnie Housel served in the US Navy and died aboard the USS Arizona in Pearl Harbor.

Marie Housel Dabner was a Sedalia civic leader who was Inter-State Studio's first employee. She died in 2021 at the age of 101.

Local author Dr. Becky Imhauser will give a presentation after a brief business meeting that night.
