Project Connect will take place Friday, April 24 at the Heckart Community Center, 1800 W. 3rd Street, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

The event is being organized by partner organizations dedicated to resource navigation and strengthening healthy communities. Hosting partners include Bothwell Regional Health Center, The Pediatric Place Family First Initiative, Pettis County Health Center, Katy Trail Community Health, and Centerstone (formerly Burrell Behavioral Health).

Transformation of Rural Community Health (ToRCH) is an active rural health program sponsored by the Missouri HealthNet Division (MHD), i.e. Missouri Medicaid.  The ToRCH program implements a care model that directs resources to rural communities dedicated to addressing the underlying causes of poor health.

 

Friday’s event will be a free public health event designed to connect individuals and families with essential health, wellness and community resources.

 

The event brings together local providers and organizations to offer services, education and support in one location.

The services offered at the event will include:

 

*Limited dental services for adults

*Medicaid enrollment assistance

*Substance abuse and behavioral health info

*Haircuts

*Vouchers for driver’s license and birth certificates

*Unemployment services

*Veteran services

*Health screenings

*Free lunch provided

Event sponsors include Healthy Blue, Home State Health, UnitedHealthcare, Centerstone (formerly Burrell Behavioral Health), Sedalia Parks and Recreation, Compass Health Network and Molina Healthcare.
