Connie Berglund, a certified Family Nurse Practitioner, has joined Bothwell Regional Health Center’s walk-in clinics team and will care for patients of all ages for their urgent health care needs.

As a nurse practitioner, Berglund can see patients, evaluate and treat illnesses and injuries, perform procedures, order and interpret labs and tests and prescribe medications.

Berglund has 28 years of nursing experience and has been a Nurse Practitioner for 20 years. She received a master’s degree in Family Nurse Practitioner in 2004 from Bethel College of Nursing at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.

Much of Berglund’s nursing career has been spent in urgent care settings in Colorado and Missouri, as well as providing preventative care and chronic disease management in primary care clinics. She said her passion for nursing began as a young child.

“When I was young, my grandfather was dying of lung cancer and was intermittently in the hospital at the end of his life,” she said. “I was not allowed to see him and spent many hours sitting in the waiting room while my parents visited him. A kind nurse allowed me to see him, and I vowed to become a nurse and help other children like she helped me."

Marvin Smoot, Bothwell’s Clinic Operations vice president, said Berglund’s years of experience in urgent care makes her a strong addition to the walk-in medical team.

“The number of patients we see at our two walk-in clinics is demanding and the pace is fast,” he said. “Connie has broad experience in this type of environment and is accustomed to providing high-quality care and helping wherever needed. We are excited to welcome Connie to the Bothwell family and know she will be a great asset to our medical team."

Berglund values building trust between herself and patients she sees and wants people to know her as a caring provider.

“We are a team making shared decisions concerning your health,” she said. “I am an empathetic listener, I care about your concerns and I want you to feel like you have a say in your health care."

Bothwell has two walk-in clinics in Sedalia, Walk In Winchester in the Bothwell Healing Arts Center at 3700 W. 10th St., and Walk In Off Broadway at 700 S. Hancock. Berglund joins Nurse Practitioners Belinda Harper, April Ream, Ali Roth and Mindy Vesperman on the walk-in team. No appointment is needed to be seen for care.
