If you were thinking about burning trash or maybe that brush pile that has building over the past few months, today is definitely not the day to do it!

Gusty northwest winds will pick up through the day. Winds will be 20 to 30 mph, with gusts in the 40 to 50 mph range. Given the dry grass and foliage across the area the strong winds and dry air will combine for very high fire danger. Any fire that ignites will likely spread very quickly. As a result the Natonal Weather Service strongly discourages any outdoor burning on Tuesday.

For smokers beware of the usual flick of the cigarette out a window when you're traveling through the countryside. One little spark on a day like today could cause grass fires in very little time.
