So how may extra pounds have you packed on during the holidays? No need to stress, help is on the way! According to a registered dietician, these are some of the best and the worst diets for 2019.

The resolutions are starting and according to Jaclyn London, MS, RD, CDN, with Good Housekeeping, has listed the top diets for the upcoming year.

Mediterranean Diet

This is more of a lifestyle change instead of a diet. You'll load up on veggies, 100% whole grains and lean protein to name a few. In smaller amounts you'll enjoy smaller portions of sweets and saturated fats.

The DASH Diet

DASH is an acronym for "Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension". More produce, seafood, (NOT see food and eat it!) low dairy and nuts are included in the healthier lifestyle of eating.

The Volumetrics Diet

This was designed by a team of experts from Penn State University. It's a lot of basic weight loss basics that include more vegetables and fruits. The good thing about this diet is how they come up with creative ways to keep on it.

Basically the worst diets you can go on in 2019, or in fact anytime, is anything that has the words "detox" and "cleanse "included.
