Fortuna Man Accused of Trying to Intentionally Run Over Girlfriend, Son
A 35-year-old Fortuna man was arrested in Moniteau County after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance where a man was reportedly trying to run over his girlfriend and son with a vehicle.
According to the Moniteau County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched on October 14 to a residence on Old Hwy. 5 and observed a UTV being pursued by a vehicle. Authorities say it appeared as if the vehicle was attempting to hit the UTV. A news release from the Moniteau County Sheriff's Office says that Timothy H. Hancock jumped out of his truck and advanced on a deputy in a threatening way. Hancock was put on the ground at gunpoint and handcuffed.
Hancock was taken to the Moniteau County Jail on charges including first degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, and endangering the welfare of a child. The Moniteau County Sheriff's Office says Hancock is being charged as a prior and persistent felony offender.
