Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday night in Sedalia.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2010 Toyota, driven by 34-year-old Vita G. Olefirenko of Sedalia, was traveling on Highway 50, one-half mile west of Main Street at 6:33 p.m., with no headlights in low-light conditions, when a 2005 John Deere, driven by 34-year-old Cameron R. Venters of Sedalia, attempted to cross the roadway in front of the Toyota. The Toyota then struck the John Deere on the driver's side.

Injured were Olefirenko, who suffered moderate injuries, and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by PCAD; a two-year-old male and a four-year-old female suffered moderate injuries, and were transported by PCAD to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City; and a 12-year-old female suffered serious injuries, and was flown to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

All three children were not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash, according to the report. It was unknown if Olefirenko was wearing a seat belt.

The John Deere had moderate damage, while the Toyota was totaled and towed by Don's Truck Towing.
