Four people were injured in a two-car crash that occurred in Johnson County Tuesday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2018 Jeep Latitude driven by 27-year-old Margaret J. Benitez of Warrensburg was traveling north on Missouri 58, north of Route VV at 4:26 p.m., when a southbound 2013 Ram 1500 driven by 33-year-old Jeffrey E. Brown of Warrensburg crossed the center line and and collided with the Jeep.

Brown suffered serious injuries. Benitez and a passenger in the Jeep, 22-year-old Krystopher M. Costanzo of Centerview suffered moderate injuries, while a third occupant in the Jeep, 19-year-old Nathaniel E. Rodgers of Warrensburg, suffered minor injuries. All were wearing their seat belt and all were transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by JCAD for treatment.

Both vehicles had extensive damage.

Benitez was later arrested by the Patrol at 7:09 p.m. for DWI (drug-related) and possession of marijuana. She was taken to Warrensburg Police Department, where she was booked and released.
