Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday morning in Benton County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a northbound 2002 Ford Escape, driven by 47-year-old Susan M. Chiles of Warsaw, slowed for a traffic crash ahead of her at 9:45 a.m., on US 65, just south of the Pettis-Benton county line, when a northbound 2007 Chevy Malibu, driven by 20-year-old Josef W. Black of Warsaw, overtook and struck the rear of the Ford.

Black had minor injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

His passenger, a one-year-old male, also had minor injuries. Both were taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center by EMS.

Chiles had minor injuries, while her passenger, 68-year-old Shirly J. Johnson of Warsaw, suffered moderate injuries. They were also transported to Bothwell for treatment. They were wearing seat belts, it was reported.

Both vehicles were totaled.

Benton County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
