Frederick Dale Gottschalk, 67, of LaMonte, died Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born June 12, 1945 in Sedalia, the son of Paul and Doris Gottschalk. On November 27, 1968 in LaMonte, he was united in marriage to Susan Sholl.

Mr. Gottschalk worked at General Motors for 7 years, Alcan Cable for 3 years and Hayes Lemmerz Wheel Factory for 15 years. He also worked as a farmer and cattleman all his life. He was a 4-H leader, working with the youth and a beef judge at the Missouri State Fair for many years.

Fred is survived by his wife, Susan of 44 years, of the home; one son, Daniel Gottschalk and wife Darla, of Cole Camp; one daughter, Suzanne Gottschalk, of Boonville; three grandchildren, Trevor Gottschalk, of Houstonia, Ryann Allain, of Boonville and Lillie Gottschalk, of Cole Camp; and one brother, Dean Gottschalk and wife Dolly, of Kingman, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Doyle Sager officiating. Pallbearers will be Dale Dierker, Paul Zimmerschied, Wayne Simon, Jeff McCrea, Jeff Morey, James Sparks, Tim Noland and Brian Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Simon, Jim McMullin, Gordon Sparks, Robert Askew and Bob Ferguson. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
