A celebration of life for Martha "Marty" Louise Morton, 70, of Sedalia, formerly of La Monte, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10 at Rea Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the chapel. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Due to Covid-19, a private graveside service will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery for George William McCollum, 87. Arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home.
A funeral service for Carl William Arnett Jr., 76, of La Monte, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7 at Rea Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 at the chapel. Burial will be in La Monte Cemetery.
Elizabeth Ann Bishop, 62, of Raytown, died Tuesday, Aug. 4. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10 at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd. in Raytown. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at Flat Creek Baptist Church, 30501 Carpenter Road, Sedalia. Arrangements are under the direction of Heartland Cremation and Burial Society.
Iolene Gorham, 81, of Slater, died Monday, Aug. 3 at the Big Bend Retreat in Slater. Due to the continued COVID-19 pandemic, public graveside services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m. at Slater City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Social distancing will be observed, and face coverings are suggested, and will be available if needed.
Graveside services and burial for Larry Kent Johnson, 83, of Lincoln, will be held at a later date at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Lincoln. Arrangements are under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.
Funeral services for Jacob Penn Howe, 16, of Sedalia, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11 at First United Methodist Church Celebration Center. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Celebration Center. Burial will be at Highland Sacred Gardens.
Mass of Christian Burial for Kenneth G. Opfer, 83, of Joplin, formerly of Sedalia, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 12 at Sacred Heart Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Prayers of the Rosary will begin at 12 p.m. with visitation to follow until service time Wednesday at the church.
No public services are planned for Earl Christopher Hack, Jr, 72, of Sedalia. Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
