Great Steaks: Check Out Kansas City’s Newest Steakhouse
Kansas City's newest steakhouse opened to much fanfare at the Ameristar Casino just east of downtown Kansas City.
From what I can tell, if you're a fan of upscale dining or just like a really good steak cooked just right, this restaurant has you covered. That said, one look at the prices might just leave you outside looking in at the restaurant.
KC Chop House, the new restaurant, is a dinner-only restaurant open from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM on Wednesday and Thursday, and 5:00 PM -10:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
According to the KC Chop House web page, "KC Chop House will bring together familiar midwestern hospitality with an elevated selection of steaks, seafood, wine, and cocktails." Signature dishes include the 40-ounce Long Bone Ribeye, served on a butcher block with homemade steak sauce and truffle fries. As well as the KC Chop House Bruger, which is wagyu beef, black truffle cheese, fried onions, and bacon jam. Not to mention my favorite, Prime Rib.
It's not a cheap, inexpensive, meal either. Appetizers range from $11 for the Baked Onion Soup to $22 for the Lump Crab Cakes. As far as steaks go, a bone in Ribeye 20 ounces will run you $98. A KC Strip Steak, 18 ounces will run you $79. And the Prime Rib costs between $70 and $40.
Sides and salads are a little bit more affordable, but when steaks are priced the way they are here, I don't think anyone dining at KC Chop House will flinch at any of the prices.
That said, if you're more of a budget-conscious diner, there are several other restaurants on the Ameristar property including Amerisports Brew Pup, Big Tony's Pizza, An Pho, Sugo, The Burger Joint, and Willy and Jose's Cantina.
According to Senior Vice President and General Manager of Ameristar Kansas City, Keith Henson, KC Chop House is the culmination of the property's extensive remodel as they've tried to enhance the guest experience and meet today's industry standards.
Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City is located just east of downtown and aside from several restaurants, the casino floor is one of the biggest in Missouri, and they have a five-level parking garage. Ameristar Kansas City is part of Boyd Gaming.
