Green Ridge Man Seriously Injured after Vehicle Strikes Deer

A 51-year old Green Ridge man was injured Thursday evening after his vehicle struck a deer in Lafayette County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident at 6:40, on Highway YY east of MO-13.

According to the online crash report, a 1999 Ford Explorer struck a deer in the roadway, traveled off the road and then struck a tree.

The driver, 51-year old James M. Couchman, of Green Ridge, suffered serious injuries. Couchman was taken to Centerpoint Hospital by Life Flight air ambulance for treatment.

The Ford was totaled and towed from the scene.
