Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-04) released the following statement after President Donald Trump signed two executive orders to improve rural broadband.

“An astonishing 61% of rural Missourians do not have access to broadband internet,” Hartzler said. “Without it, my constituents are deprived of educational opportunities, higher agricultural efficiency, and access to telemedicine.

"An absence of high-speed internet also puts rural businesses competing in the global economy at a severe disadvantage. Expanding rural broadband opportunities for my constituents is a priority of mine, and I am pleased the President recognizes this disparity and is taking steps to address this urgent issue.”

Also announced was Hartzler's staff will visit Warsaw on Wednesday, Jan. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Benton County Courthouse, 316 Van Buren Road, to meet with local residents and assist Missourians experiencing problems with a federal agency.

And Hartzler’s staff will host office hours in Nevada, Thursday, Jan. 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Vernon County Courthouse,100 West Cherry Street, and in Butler Thursday, Jan. 18 from 1 to 3:00 p.m. at the Bates County Courthouse, 1 North Delaware Street.
