Love may be in the air on Valentine’s Day, but so are bigger bills.

According to a survey by online restaurant reservation site OpenTable, the average check for a couple when dining out this Valentine’s Day will be $139, a steep jump from the $85 OpenTable usually reports. The lovebirds out there don't really seem to mind coughing up extra cash, though, because 8% of respondents will actually eat out more than once on February 14.

So, what are lovers ‘round the country planning on eating when they dine out? Fifty-percent of people will eat the traditional three-course meal, while 23% will share meals, 13% will dine on the entrée only and 8% will try an extensive menu.

If you’re going out with that special someone in your life, make sure to follow proper etiquette. Fifty-six percent of women and 61% of men claim using your phone at the dinner table is the biggest blunder you can make on a date.
