The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will close a major stretch of Interstate 70 in Kansas City for 11 months in 2027.

The closure will stretch from Prospect Avenue to Van Brunt Boulevard to accommodate mainline bridge replacements and roadway construction as part of the Improve I-70 KC project.

Crews will add a fourth eastbound lane, replace the mainline bridges and completely reconstruct Interstate-70 at Jackson Avenue and Benton Boulevard.
