If You’re Going to the Chiefs Game, It’s All About the Zone
Most of us will be watching the Chiefs start their Super Bowl title defense at home on television, or at their favorite watering hole here in West Central Missouri.
However, if you're one of the lucky people heading to the game here's some things you need to know.
Kansas City Chiefs Community & Digital Media Producer Matt McMullen has broken it down into four things you need to remember in a post on the Kansas City Chiefs website:
1) Know your zone and have a game plan.
2) Wear your mask at all times, even while seated.
3) Maintain social distance throughout your visit.
4) Have patience and know we are all in this together.
Most of Matt's points are pretty self explanatory. Masks are required, period. Even when you're sitting in your seats, except while eating or drinking. The Chiefs ask that fans maintain physical distancing and interact with people in their party only. This goes for tailgaters too.
Fans have been assigned a "zone" based on where they're sitting in the stadium. This "zone" tells fans where to enter the parking lots, what gates to enter the stadium, and once in the stadium the part of the stadium they have access to (including concession and souvenir stands and retail stores.
Some other things to keep in mind if you're going to the game:
- Concessions, retail points of sale and parking toll booths are all cashless.
- Concession stands will be offering limited contact and contactless experiences.
- No bags are allowed, including the previously allowed clear bags.
Finally, Arrowhead stadium has secured GBAC STAR accreditation, which is the cleaning industry's only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation for facilities.
Yeah, if you're heading to the game it's going to be a very different experience. You'll be one of the first to experience live sports again.
Second, remember, there's someone, probably many someones, home watching the game that would have given anything to be there but passed. Either the tickets cost too much, they have a loved one they're trying to keep healthy, or they're trying to keep healthy themselves. Instead of complaining about how different it is, be grateful you have the experience.
