There's a new report of a possible mountain lion in Missouri as a resident said he nearly hit one of these big cats near the Camden County line in south-central Missouri.

I just came across this new mountain lion report that was shared by the Ozark Hillbilly (no, not making this up) on the Love My Missouri Backroads Facebook page. Here's a snippet of what he said. He also shared his own pic of a mountain lion with this description:

"I almost hit one of these going home last night. Hickory/Camden co line. I didn’t take the pic it’s one I reposted to show exactly what I saw."

While he didn't mention what road he was on when he saw the supposed mountain lion, it would likely be Highway 7 or Highway 54. Here's the area he was talking about on Google Maps.

It's important to note that the Missouri Department of Conservation has NOT verified this new mountain lion report and the Ozark Hillbilly didn't mention if he submitted an official report or not. Anyone that thinks they've seen a legitimate mountain lion can submit a report through their site. I've seen them say that only around 1% of submitted mountain lion reports are ever confirmed. All I can add is that if you live and/or travel through that part of Missouri, keep an eye out on the nearby woods and road. You just might have an apex predator near where you are. Here, kitty, kitty.
