4 Illinois Hospitals Just Received F Grades for Patient Safety
I have never been in a hospital where I (or my family) have never been treated anyway other than excellent. I am one of the fortunate ones, apparently, as 4 Illinois hospitals were just given a big fat F for patient safety.
Let's face it - not every doctor paid as much attention in medical school compared to others
I am not aware of a more reliable source for hospital safety issues than Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. For years, they have measured medical facilities for errors, accidents, infections and injuries. They release newly-updated data every Spring and Fall. The new rankings and grades for Fall 2025 have just been released and it's not all good news for Illinois hospitals.
Here's something you need to know about the newly-released hospital safety grades
Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade licenses their information to professionals and organizations. Their information is free for individuals like you, but I am not allowed to share details about the grades they've given Illinois hospitals since I am doing formal research. That being said, you deserve to know that there are four Illinois hospitals that have just been given a big fat F for patient safety. I encourage you to go to Leapfrog's site and view them for yourself. I don't have any personal experiences with any of the hospitals in Illinois that were given failing grades for patient safety so I won't add anything to their grades other than to recommend that you go check them out. Few things in life more important than medical care for you and/or your family.
