I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the railroad. Grew up admiring the big iron horses and that will never change. What sadly will change for 75 Missouri railroad workers is their job status as a new document submitted to the state indicates cuts are coming for all of them starting in August.'

I was alerted by the state of Missouri's Jobs site that another mass layoff was imminent. They provided a document from Priority Yard and Train which said 75 workers will be impacted by layoffs which are set to begin on August 31, 2025. The address given is this one at 12801 NE 41st Street in Kansas City, Missouri.

The WARN notice submitted to the state of Missouri says there are no bumping rights for these employees, but that they were represented by Teamsters Local 41 in Kansas City. There is no confirmation at this time if the layoffs are temporary or permanent.

The Priority Yard and Train website says they are a logistics company that provides service to the automotive and railroad industry. Let's hope all of the affected workers and this company end up in a better situation soon.
