VIDEO: Speedboat Flips Spectacularly at Lake of the Ozarks

The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is one of the premier speedboat events in the Midwest and it's also the scene for not just excellent racing, but sometimes wild crashes which is what just happened this weekend as captured on video.

Lake of the Ozarks Shootout just shared this crazy video from one of their races this weekend. It's the speedboat "Dirty Duck" which goes airborne and flips several times before landing back in the water. They said they clocked the boat doing 213 mph at the time of the flip!

The key part of this is they say both team members are OK including the driver and throttleman.

Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is the world's largest unsanctioned boat race. From what I can find, the record-holder for the fastest speed achieved during the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout happened in 2025. The 50-foot Mystic Powerboats catamaran Darana Hybrid achieved the 242 mph mark during the 2025 event.
