Fallon Makes ‘Tonight Show’ an ‘Empire’ With ‘Jimpire’ Parody
We’ve seen Jimmy Fallon take on the likes of Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and House of Cards, but with Empire Season 2 drip-dropping its FOX premiere tomorrow night, Fallon was bound to take the throne. Watch the real Cookie and Lucious chime in as The Tonight Show takes on the Empire with Jimpire!
Fallon naturally taking the part of Lucious (cleverly subbing Fallon’s real-life finger injury for Lucius’ terminal illness), the Tonight Show parody also featured Steve Higgins as “Higgy,” Cookie ass-flash and all, competing with with Questlove and Black Thought for control of the show. Not to mention, the Empire stars themselves, Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, and a terrible, terrible orange-skinned surprise.
In addition to its September 23 premiere, Empire Season 2 will expand to 18 episodes, up from the first run’s 12, and structured in two halves with a major cliffhanger between. Thus far, Season 2 guest stars include Mariah Carey, Adam Busch, Andre Royo, Kelly Rowland, Marisa Tomei, Adam Rodriguez, Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz and Alicia Keys, while hip-hop artist Ne-Yo will join Timbaland in writing music for Season 2.
