Johnson County Clerk Alerted to Possible Polling Place Scam

The Johnson County Voter Registration office has been notified that voters are receiving a text from an unknown number telling them which polling place to go to; however the information is incorrect.

County Clerk Diane Thompson attempted to contact the number to find out who was responsible for the messages but has been unsuccessful.

"If you receive a text from an unknown number telling you to go to a polling location that you know is incorrect, please DISREGARD! We don't want voters going to a wrong polling location based on this incorrect information," Thompson said.
