Johnson County Extends Stay at Home Order to Align With State

Johnson County Community Health Services extended their Stay at Home Order until 11:59 PM CDT on Sunday May 3. The extension is so the county's Stay at Home Order matches the end date of the Stay Home Missouri Order Governor Parson put in place.

Johnson County Community Health Services says the Stay at Home order will be lifted on Sunday May 3. However, "restrictions and guidelines for residents will continue as communities begin the re-opening phase(s)."

Additionally Johnson Community Health Services has formed a re-entry task force made up of representatives from  Johnson County Community Health Services, University of Central Missouri, Western Missouri Medical Group, Whiteman Air Force Base, Johnson County Emergency Management Agency, Johnson County Ambulance District, Warrensburg Fire Department and the Chamber of Commerce. The re-entry task force is tasked with creating a plan to re-open communities safely.

Mary Thaut, Johnson County Community Health Services Administrator says communities and citizens will still need to continue safety precautions and there will still be some strict limits in place to continue the decline in COVID-19 cases the county has seen.

Additionally it's recommended that "older adults and individuals who have severe underlying medical conditions are encouraged to continue staying home for longer periods, even during the re-opening of communities to protect themselves."

As of 10:45 AM CDT on Sunday April 26 Johnson County has seven active cases of the cornavirus. 54 total cases of COVID-19, with 47 recovered and 1,174 tests administered. Additionally JOCOMO Emergency Operations reports nine recoveries in the last week, and only five new cases of COVID-19 this week compared to seven last week.
