Kansas City Chiefs Are Working On Extension For WR Tyreek Hill
The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the most potent offenses in the league. And they have an offensive weapon that many teams only wished they had. That would be wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Hill is set to enter the final year of his three-year extension signed in 2019 and due to count $20.685 million against the salary cap.
It certainly would be in the best interest of the Kansas City Chiefs to keep him on the team for as long as possible. Which is why the team is working on another extension with Hill's agent Drew Rosenhaus. You can click HERE for a video with Ian Rapoport from the NFL Network.
This would be the 3rd contract for Hill. Tyreek has made the Pro Bowl in each season of his six-year career and has been named a first-team All-Pro three times. Leaps and bounds the Chiefs' top receiver, Hill is coming off back-to-back campaigns of 1,200-plus yards and nine-plus TDs.
He has earned this extension and if they can work something out, it would help free up some salary cap relief for the team as they try and reload for another run at the Super Bowl next season. The team could probably use some help on defense as well as more depth at wide receiver.
If the team can work out an extension, expect Hill to make somewhere in the amount of 20-25 million a season. It could make him the highest paid WR in the league. And Patrick Mahomes can have his big weapon to throw to for many seasons to come.
