Kansas City Police Again Ask for Help After Recent Violence
Kansas City police are again calling for the community's help in addressing violence following a night of deaths and injuries.
The Kansas City Star reports that one woman died of a gunshot wound and police suspect foul play in another woman's death between Saturday night and Sunday morning. The newspaper reports violence occurred at five locations in that time period and there were eight injuries, including at least one from a shoot-off with police.
Kansas City police Sgt. Jake Becchina says there was no theme between the events other than people turning to violence to deal with disputes.
The recent violence came days after police called for help from the community when 17 people were shot over a period of 48 hours at the start of the month.
