Local news, events, and organizations are the focus of a new local show called "Let's Talk" debuting on KSIS 1050 and the KSIS Radio App on Saturday, December 4 at 10:00 AM CST.

The "Let's Talk" hosts hope to provide KSIS 1050 listeners and Sedalia residents with a deeper dive into mostly local and regional issues and news that impact their lives.

"Let's Talk" was created by self-admitted news junkie and Sedalia resident Ron Toellner who wanted a radio show to take a deeper dive into local news, issues, and organizations that can't be gotten in a ninety-second local newscast or gleaned from a newspaper article.

Toellner then got civic leader John Meehan and recently retired Kix 105.7 morning personality Beau Matthews to participate in developing, producing, and hosting the new program named "Let's Talk".

The group then brought their show concept to the management of KSIS 1050, who were looking to add a locally produced program to their schedule and thought it was a good fit for Sedalia's News Leader and agreed to provide the hosts with studio access and air time for the program.

The "Let's Talk" hosts hope to provide KSIS 1050 listeners and Sedalia residents with a deeper dive into mostly local and regional issues and news that impact their lives. Additionally, the program hopes to shine a light on community events and organizations that help make Sedalia the city that it is.

The first two shows on the schedule include a look into services provided to veterans by the Warrensburg Veterans Home and the Truman VA Outpatient Center here in Sedalia. And the pending acquisition of about 400 acres of land by State Fair Community College and the Missouri State Fair for future expansion of the fair and college.

Listen to "Let's Talk" on KSIS 1050 AM, the KSIS Radio App, or the KSIS website. Plans are in the works to offer this program as the first offering of Townsquare Media Sedalia / Warrensburg's Radio On Demand service which will allow listeners to hear the program at a time that's convenient for them.

In order to make room for "Let's Talk" on the KSIS 1050 schedule, Doug Stephen's "American Family Farmer" will air at 9:00 AM CST, followed by "Let's Talk" at 10:00 AM CST, and then the Saturday edition of the Markley, VanCamp, and Robbins show at 11:00 AM.
