
Harrisonville Teen Killed in Freightliner Rollover
A Harrisonville teen was killed and a Belton teen was injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred Monday afternoon in Lafayette County.
The MSHP reports that an eastbound 2020 Freightliner M2, driven by an 18-year-old male from Belton, was at US Highway 24 and Route BB around 3 p.m. Monday, when the Freightliner traveled off the right side of the roadway, returned to the roadway and overturned, then slid off the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch, where an 18-year-old passenger from Harrisonville, was ejected from the vehicle.
The 18-year-old male was pronounced deceased on scene by Lafayette County Deputy R. Starner at 3:24 p.m. The body was taken to Steward-Hoeffer Funeral Home in Higginsville.
The driver suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center by Waverly EMS.
Neither were wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

The Freightliner was totaled and towed by Jackson County Tow.
Lafayette County Deputies assisted the nine Troopers on scene.
