Authorities have arrested a Missouri halfway house resident after a trail of blood led from his room to the body of another resident.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that a 44-year-old Percy Lindsey is being held on $500,000 bond on a charge of second degree murder in the death of 36-year-old Darryl Billups. He’s not listed as having a lawyer assigned to him.

Police say Billups’ body was found Saturday behind the St. Louis County house, with a blood trail leading to Lindsey’s room. Police say Lindsey had blood on his shoes, pants and jacket. Police didn’t say what led up to Billups’ death.

Lindsey has a lengthy criminal history that includes prison sentences for elder abuse, drug trafficking, unlawful use of a weapon and tampering with a stolen vehicle.
