Man Charged with Intentionally Driving Car Toward 2 Boys
A 30-year-old Missouri man is charged after police say he intentionally drove his car toward two boys of Indian descent and shouted an ethnic slur at them.
Samuel Lay, of Creve Coeur, was charged Monday with assault and armed criminal action. He is being held on $30,000 bond.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports investigators say Lay, who is white, drove past the 12- and 14-year-old boys Friday as they were walking in Creve Coeur. He allegedly turned around and sped toward them, forcing the boys to jump off the road. Charging documents say as the boys continued walking, Lay pulled up next to them, cursed them and used the racial slur.
Police say the boys didn’t know Lay.
Online court documents do not name an attorney for Lay.
