Marcy Marie Hawkins, 44

Marcy Marie Hawkins, 44, of Sedalia, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at her home.

She was born July 2, 1969, in Sedalia, a daughter of Jack Lee and Joyce (Smith) Woolery. On December 10, 1993, in Versailles, she married John Hawkins, and in December 2007, they renewed their vows at Calvary Episcopal Church. John survives of the home.

She was raised in Stover and graduated from Morgan County R-I High School in 1987. After graduation, she worked for pharmacies in Versailles and Kansas City. She was a real estate agent for Haulotte Real Estate. She later received an associate degree in nursing from State Fair Community College. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Women’s Health at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

During her high school years, Marcy played trumpet in the Stover High School band. Her involvement in school activities continued with her own children as “Mama Hawkins” was always there to help with JROTC events at Smith-Cotton High School. Marcy also played the accordion and was a baton twirler.

She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church and enjoyed attending the Mary Polk NEWS Group. Marcy enjoyed scrapbooking, baking, her dog, shopping (especially with her nieces), coordinating and planning family gatherings, and dancing with her husband, John.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Joyce Woolery, of Florence; three sons, Adam Lee Hawkins, and his wife, Deanna, of Jefferson City, Jacob Alexander Hawkins, of Sedalia, and LC cpl Joseph Dickson Hawkins, stationed in Okinawa, Japan, and his fiancé, Rachel Walton, of Sedalia; a brother, Jody Lee Woolery, and his wife, Heather, of Sedalia; two sisters, Angela Connell and Idee Wilson, and her husband, Don, all of Smithton; eight nieces and nephews, Dustin, Thresa and Kyleigh Connell, her godchildren Alexis and Shelby Woolery, and Tylor, Bryce and Nakia Wilson.

A memorial service will be 1 pm, Monday, April 21, 2014, at Calvary Episcopal Church with the Reverend Harvel Sanders officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of service. A reception will follow the memorial service in the church fellowship hall. Inurnment will take place in the church columbarium.
