A man who was speeding down Odell Avenue in Marshall on Tuesday afternoon in a Ford Focus and struck another Ford, which then struck a pedestrian, now faces multiple charges as a result.

 

The driver of the other vehicle, a 65-year-old Marshall woman, died at the scene.

The pedestrian, a 32-year-old woman from Marshall, suffered serious injuries, and was Life Flighted to Research Medical Center.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 42-year-old Brent Y. Reynolds of Marshall at 1:38 p.m. Tuesday in Saline County.

He now faces charges of 1st degree involuntary manslaughter, C & I driving involving an accident, no proof of insurance, failure to main financial responsibility, improper registration, failure to stop at a stop sign and speeding by 26 mph or more, 2nd degree assault, armed criminal action. He was also wanted on a parole violation. Reynolds was taken to the Saline County Detention Center on a 24-hour hold.

The jail listed a Sedalia address for Reynolds. He was released Thursday morning.
