A local favorite among Sedalians when it comes to restaurants is returning after a six-month absence.

In January, Mighty Melt management issued the following statement:

Due to the challenging business environment of staffing difficulties, lack of product availability, and inflated costs of goods and services, Might Melt Sandwich and Spud Shop has made the heartbreak, difficult decision to permanently close our doors.  It has been a joy and an honor to serve our loyal customers over the last 37 years, and our only regret is no longer being able to serve and interact with you all every day.  From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for allowing us to cater to your families and businesses, and thank you for supporting us in our endeavor.

That was then, this now.

According to a facebook post from Sedalian Shelia Patton Tuesday night, Mighty Melt is returning to the land of the living once again.

IS IT TRUE???? ARE YOU SURE?
WELL… YES, YES IT IS!!!
I sold it AND it’s REOPENING! AUGUST 2nd. Come see us and meet the new owner! I’ll see you there as I am running it for him! Can’t wait to see you!

So apparently, Tuesday, August 2 is the day Mighty Melt rises like a Phoenix from the dead and delights customers once again with a new owner from St. Louis.

I'll see you there, standing in line, eager to order a Mighty Pepperoni or a Mighty ham and cheese with mayo and mushrooms.
