A St. Louis man who was behind the wheel of a stolen car in 2015 that crashed and killed two women has pleaded guilty to two counts of involuntary manslaughter.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 22-year-old Malik Henderson entered the plea Friday.

Prosecutors say Henderson was traveling at 106 mph just before he crashed, killing 20-year-old Hanna Shuppert, of Festus, and 18-year-old Marissa Volner, of Pevely. The women were Henderson’s friends and passengers in the stolen car.

Police say blood tests taken after the crash showed Henderson was intoxicated. The stolen car had been taken days earlier in an armed carjacking. A jury in March found Henderson not guilty in the carjacking.

The crash left Henderson partially paralyzed and with no memory of the crash.

He’s set to be sentenced Aug. 22. Prosecutors have asked for a sentence of five years in prison for each count.
