Missouri Sanctuary Saves Tiger King Park Big Cat

The Netflix 2020 American true crime documentary is barely a blip on most television screens but some of the animals are still around. One in particular, a male tiger that has been in Tiger King Park in Thackerville, Oklahoma has been rescued by the Crown Ridge Sanctuary in St. Genevieve, Missouri.

You may have been one that was swallowed up by the Netflix series 'Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness." Most couldn't wait until the next episode to saw what was going on behind the scenes between Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin.

In real life the tiger sanctuary in St. Genevieve along with others and with the U.S. Department of Justice, have been working to rescue 69 big cats. In a story from fox2now.com, there were a variety of cats that were to be located including:

" lions, tigers, lion-tiger hybrids, and one jaguar."

According to the article the removal of the cats was due to “ongoing Endangered Species Act violations” from Jeff and Lauren Lowe's facility.

The staff and veterinary team of Crown Ridge Sanctuary is treating the tiger. It's under quarantine and currently being monitored.

Crown Ridge Tiger Sanctuary Operations Manager John Madigan said in the article:

"...these big cats were safely removed and relocated to reputable sanctuaries, like ours, where they will receive proper veterinary care, diet, shelter, enrichment and habitats while the court decides what’s next.”

On Crown Ridge Sanctuary's website, their mission statement includes the following:
