Mo State Fair Announces Three Dog Night with Little River Band for August 18
Although we've known for weeks that Little River Band would be performing at the 2026 Missouri State Fair on Tuesday, Aug. 18, the Fair made it official on Friday with the announcement that Three Dog Night and Little River Band will take the grandstand stage on August 18.
It must be noted that Charles Negron II, a founding member and lead vocalist of the Three Dog Night, died of heart failure and COPD Feb. 2 at the age of 83 in Studio City, Los Angeles California.
Danny Hutton remains the lead singer and only original member still performing with Three Dog Night as of 2026. The band's current lineup for live performances also features long-time vocalist David Morgan, who has been with the group since 2015.
I assume Three Dog Night are the headliners and Little River Band are the opening act, due to the fact that Three Dog Night are listed first on the fair's website.
Show starts at 7:30 that night and tickets are Grandstand: $35 ($40 including potential fees) for grandstand and $45 ($50 including potential fees) for the track.

Seeing tickets before that date? Speculative ticket listings occur when unofficial sellers list tickets for sale before they actually have them, essentially betting they’ll be able to acquire them later, often to resell at a higher price. There is no guarantee these sellers will even obtain these tickets. Only mostatefair.com and etix.com are official purchasing points for Missouri State Fair tickets. Tickets outside of the fair's verified sellers may not be honored.
Here are the band bios supplied by the Fair:
Three Dog Night
Iconic American band, THREE DOG NIGHT, now celebrating its 6th decade, boasts some of the most astonishing chart statistics in popular music with 21 consecutive Billboard Top 40 hits, including 3 #1 singles and 12 straight RIAA Certified Gold LPs. Created in 1968 by Irish-born Danny Hutton, the group was conceived to feature three strong vocalists who shared leads and also blended together in exquisite three-part harmony, complemented by four ace instrumentalists, creating a self-contained unit.
This ultimately became Three Dog Night’s signature sound in the studio and live on the road. The band’s eclectic taste and arranging talents, combined with the ability to recognize and record hits in a distinctive style, resulted in Three Dog Night dominating the charts for years, earning a Grammy nomination, performing at two Super Bowls and pervading American culture with its music ubiquitous on the radio and in film and television.
From their debut eponymous album, Three Dog Night went on to release 12 gold albums and by 1975, driven by chart-topping songs like “One” “Easy to be Hard”, “Mama Told Me (Not to Come),” “Joy to the World”, “Black and White”, “Shambala” and others, the band had sold over 50 million records. During that time Three Dog Night also toured relentlessly, quickly ramping up from smaller venues to selling out stadiums, virtually establishing the modern concept of a “stadium tour."
Three Dog Night continues to perform over 80 shows a year – thrilling multigenerational audiences by delivering those larger-than-life songs with customary impeccable harmonies over a hard-driving rock and roll foundation. This year, Three Dog Night will release Enter its first studio album in nearly 40 years.
Little River Band
Little River Band garnered huge chart success with multi-platinum albums and chart-topping hits in the 70’s and 80’s. Their worldwide album, CD, and digital downloads amass to more than 350 million. LRB continues to deliver distinctive harmonies and vocal abilities under the direction of 44 year LRB veteran, lead vocalist and bass player Wayne Nelson.
To date, Wayne has contributed his talents on 24 of Little River Band’s albums/CDs. LRB was honorably dubbed “the best signing band in the world.” by Eagles founding member, the late Glenn Frey.
Little River Band has undergone an evolution or two since its origins as an Australian rock band hungry to make it in America. Fans nostalgic for such tunes as “Reminiscing” or “Lady” can join us to hear the current incarnation for a night of fantastic music, memories and more.
LRB was the first band to have Top 10 Hits for 6 consecutive years! Their song “Reminiscing” has garnered over 5 million air plays on American radio, with “Lady” following close behind with over 4 million air plays. In September 2015, the band was awarded Casino Entertainer of the Year at the G2E Gaming Expo in Las Vegas.
Bringing their vocal and musical energy along with great arrangements to their timeless classic hits, each show creates new memories for the audience. The band enjoys watching their fans fall in love with the songs all over again as they are swept up by the show’s powerful performance and the volume of hits from LRB’s history.
With 90 -100 dates being scheduled for their 2026 tour, Little River Band is hotter than ever, selling out shows and making music coast to coast, continuing their legacy of being “the best singing band in the world,” per Glenn Frey of the Eagles
